Do not bring your amimal to Lighthouse Rescue Clinic for emergency treatment!
I recently lost my cat due to the fact that they could not offer me a diagnosis in time!
They did unneeded tests (FIV/Lukemia) and Bus dipstick tests that are unreliable.
They did not tell me that they could not get a diagnosis or ask permission for any of the tests beforehand.
They sent me to another emergency hospital with only an IV (unhooked up) ans some hot water bottles!
The emergency hospital costs $1000 for tests ans overnight stay!
Lighthouse does not have a blood pressure machine...how can they perform surgery without one?They cannot perform blood tests - they send out for everything.
I'd love to say more, but I'm too upset.
The fact that they could not even offer me pallative care for a dying pet is too disgusting for me to handle.
it's either cough up the money your euthanize your pet -
and that is unacceptable.
Vets on Long Island have become more interested in money than they are in treating your pets.
Please find your treatments elsewhere.

I hope this serves as a warning to owners thinking of bringing their animals for any emergency work to the Lighthouse Rescue Clinic. Their care is unreliable, now that Dr. Perkins is no longer the attending vet.
